Jackie and Ron met in 1990 at San Francisco State University (shoutout to Kat's late great aunt Raquel Sta. Ana for introducing them on SF State's campus). 5 months later... marriage! They raised the family in the Outer Sunset, sent the kids off to school, and are now traveling the world! Currently Ron works remotely as a CFO and Jackie is living the newly-retired dream. They are usually traveling between their homes in the Philippines and San Francisco, but don't worry they will return for the wedding.
Martina & Robin Wong - Matthew's Parents
Martina and Robin met through family friends in 1984 in their hometown of Hong Kong. Robin was vacationing at the time, and luckily was in town for 3 months. They began a relationship and continued long-distance dating (SF to HK) for 3 years. In 1987, they got married in Hong Kong, and Martina then finally moved to America. During their free time, they love to take dance classes together or have dinner with friends or Matt and Kat. They are excited to dance the night away at Kat and Matt's wedding.
Rosalina Alcaraz aka "Mama" - Katrina's Grandma
Mama (and Papa) brought the Alcaraz clan to the US from Quezon City, Philippines in 1978 and they landed in San Francisco. Ricardo Alcaraz aka Papa made a switch from his career as a lawyer and Mama had to join the workforce to start their new lives in this country. Fast forward to today, Mama loves spending time with her 3 children and 6 grandchildren (especially if they drive her to the casino).
Alcaraz-Hapin-Noguera Family - Katrina's Family
The Alcaraz-Hapin-Noguera clan is very close. They hangout every major holiday and on some weekends, since they all live within the Bay Area. They've gone on multiple family trips with all 13 of them - Hawaii, Denver, Chicago, Philippines, Japan, DC, etc. Kat is honored to be the first of the grandchildren to get married! Everyone in the family knows Mama has been pushing for this moment -- according to her this event should've happened years ago.
Isabella "Beya" Alcaraz - Bridesmaid
Kat's younger sister, but they were always mistaken for twins as kids. Maybe because Jackie dressed them in matching outfits? They no longer match outfits, but they share a few similar hobbies - adopting shelter dogs, going to music festivals, thrifting, and gardening.
Sophia Hapin - Bridesmaid
Kat's cousin! Although Sophia was born in the year 2000 (I know right), they hang out a lot. They're the best travel buddies and they love a good side quest. Some examples of side quests: 17-mile walk through SF, 9 movie marathon at Alamo Drafthouse, 24-hour book reading sesh (in the works).
Naomi Noguera - Bridesmaid
Kat's cousin! Naomi keeps her young in her attempt to avoid becoming a cheugy millenial. Naomi currently lives in Chicago and is a future Physical Therapist! Sadly, they did not overlap in Chicago, but that's okay because now she has someone to visit there.
Shanika Arboleda - Bridesmaid
Kat and Shanika met at Saint Ignatius College Prep summer volleyball camp in 2008 and have been inseparable ever since. From matching pink socks in PE class to running Kasa Fit Co., their first business, to making silly little Tiktoks... they tend to do things together.
Karina Muñoz - Bridesmaid
If Karina is there, chances are that Kat is too! You can catch them finding random knicknacks at Alameda Antiques Faire, sweating at Core40, snacking at the farmers market, or having a rat girl summer outdoors. Karina is so organized and reliable - she's the mastermind behind Kat's bridal shower and played a big role in her proposal. She gets the vision, always.
Christopher Mendoza - Bridesman
Chris and Kat have been besties since freshman year of high school. They also both went to college in Colorado! So many core memories made together - house parties at Christopher's parents' home in Millbrae, concerts in both Denver and Bay Area, meals at all the restaurants Chris has been a chef at (Duo, Buddy, Birddog), etc.
Danica Lampitoc - Bridesmaid
Danica and Kat attended rival middle schools and met at a basketball tournament because they were both cheerleaders. So they've known each other for 16 years! They were in choir together in high school, but mostly spent time at Stonestown Mall or sleepovers. Now they're either out and about or in hibernation.
Aishah Davis - Bridesmaid
Aishah and Kat met at Regis University and bonded over the fact that they were both from SF. They explored Denver, frequented lots of sporting events with the Regis cheer team, and went to Vegas together for the first time for Aishah's 21st birthday! They've spent countless birthdays all around the world together ever since.
Crystal Deng - Bridesmaid
Crystal and Kat met at Yelp in Chicago! Like a true Midwest girlie, Crystal is a social butterfly. Kat moved to Chicago without knowing a single human, but it was easy to make friends since Crystal was constantly inviting her out. Then Crystal moved to SF which was an exciting time. They are no longer in the same city, but they see each other in whatever new city Crystal decides to live in!
Jennifer Kaplan - Bridesmaid
Jen and Kat also met at Yelp Chicago and they navigated the early work from home days of the pandemic together. Although they no longer live in the same city, they see each other on trips and special occasions! They recently went to Palm Springs for Jen's birthday and NYC. Jen was there to help Kat pick THE wedding dress at Kyha Studios in NYC!
Stephanie Wong - Officiant
Steph is Matt's older sister. Though they didn't always get along when they were younger, they became close when they were in high school and have remained close ever since. Steph and Matt have not lived in the same household since Steph left for college, but they see each other often during the holidays. Once Kat was introduced, she started tagging along. They've traveled to Palm Springs, Hawaii, and Japan together. Kat even attended Steph's bach in Miami and was a bridesmaid in her wedding! Warning: Kat + Steph + margaritas = a fun trio.
James Orbein - Groomsman
Matt met James in 2013 at his sister Steph's UCLA graduation when they first started dating. Since then, they have bonded over sports, dogs, house music, and festivals. Today, James is Matt's brother-in-law and recently became father to Matt's first nephew. Even though James is a Cowboys fan, Matt does not hold it against him because he is a good sport after every inevitable loss to the Niners. They are also both big Lakers fans.
Michael Woo - Groomsman
Michael and Matt met in the 6th grade at St. Gabe's. Matt spent countless hours at Michael's house during middle school and basically became part of Michael's family. They played basketball, baseball, and even tennis together on the weekends. They never went to the same school after 8th grade but have remained close ever since. They still text each other every day and talk about anything and everything.
Tyler Kung - Groomsman
TK and Matt met at SI and became very close during their senior year. They went on to become college roommates for 2 years at Santa Clara University and eventually housemates at "Wolf House." They bond over basketball, working out, music, and sports. Post-grad, they've been just as inseparable - trips, music festivals, sporting events, and park days. They even started the popular Spotify playlist "Brothers Radio" together.
Hensley Sy - Groomsman
Hensley and Matt met at SI. Though they were in different friend groups, they had several classes together and bonded over the Giants, fantasy sports, Burger King and Arby's. Hensley and Matt both ended up going to SCU for college and continued their friendship while discovering their new love for Sweet Tomatoes. They were even housemates for a couple years, even though Hensley never actually stayed at the house. Hensley has always been someone Matt can trust and rely upon.
Jason Sun - Groomsman
Matt met Jasun during SI summer school the year before their freshmen year. They took tennis camp together and launched balls as high as they could, to the chagrin of their instructor. They hung out often during high school, and even though they went to different colleges, they remained close and were inseparable during summer vacations. Jasun is a true friend and his family actually sold Matt the engagement ring that Matt gave to Kat!
Baldwin Liu - Groomsman
Baldwin and Matt met through mutual friends near the end of their high school tenure. They quickly bonded over sports, working out, eating out, and hanging out at Baldwin's "palace". They went to different colleges, but would always hang out on a near daily basis during their summers at home. Baldwin can always be relied on to attend any trip that Matt plans and is always there for Matt in times of need. They frequently talk about (or complain about) their similar career fields.
Quincy Karp - Groomsman
Quincy and Matt met during their freshmen year at SCU. They quickly bonded over sports, the Giants, and working out. Quincy would routinely come to Matt's room to hang out and to steal Matt's snacks. They remained close all 4 years at SCU, from being neighbors in Dunne and Maples, to finally being housemates at Wolf senior year. Post-grad, they have remained close while going on several trips together and frequently hanging out on the weekends.
Karl Valdez - Groomsman
Karl and Matt met in their dorm Dunne Hall during their freshmen year at SCU. They bonded over the 49ers and basketball. After graduating, they lived together for a year in a somewhat sketchy neighborhood in San Jose. They survived and both eventually ended up in San Francisco. Karl has always been down for a spontaneous trip or brunch with Matt. Karl actually sold Matt his first big adult purchase, a car!
Matt Glazier - Groomsman
Glaze and Matt met at Santa Clara while living in the same dorm together. They became close during their junior year when they lived across the street from each other at Maples. They often played beer die together and frequently attended music concerts. A year after graduating, they lived together in San Jose. Glaze is a big fan of Matt's birthdays, having attended his celebrations in Cabo, Miami, and Chicago. Though Glaze has since moved to Denver, the two remain close to this day.
Tyler Chan - Groomsman
Tyler and Matt met in the "Barkada" Filipino club at SCU (neither is Filipino). They would see each other at all the club events and eventually started hanging out. They became housemates senior year and have remained friends post-college. Tyler and Matt have been on countless trips together, even venturing out of the country multiple times. Matt's dog Meg is a big fan of Tyler.
